Replacing Headlight cover only for V40

Help I need to change my broken headlight cover and cannot afford the amount volvo wants to charge for installation.... so need to do this myself. Has anyone done this before for this model and can you please give details of what I need to do. I have never worked on my car before and am female so please don't use abbreviations when replying hope someone can help soon. Thank you for the support system this offers!
