How much $$ to replace torn CV boot? 850 1997

I just had my CV boot ( driver side) replaced last week, the dealer charged me $85.00 for the boot kit, and I had an indenpendent shop installed for another $85.00. I didnt shop around for the CV boot kit, I have probably had it for a better price.
About the CV boots failing, I have a Quest, Celica and the 850, and they all eventually have CV boots failure, its important that you check each CV boot at least in a monthly basis. I know its a pain in the *ss that comes with all Front Wheel Drive vehicles...
