Reluctant Seatbelt Latches S70 1998

I'm having a problem with the seatbelt latches on my new (to me) 98 S70. Basically, they latch just fine but they're extremely difficult to unbuckle. I have to fight with it for as much as 20 seconds before I can get my seatbelt off. The driver's buckle is the worst and the front passenger's buckle does it to some degree as well. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anybody had this problem before? I looked through the archives and nothing turned up. I want to fix this as quickly as I can because it strikes me as a pretty big safety concern. Thanks for any responses.

Tim
