Check Eng. light on when cold/Lowering springs S70

When I start my 98 S70 T5M in the morning or after its snowed or the car has been outside for a while, the check engine light is on, but after driving around for a while it goes away. Anyone else have this problem? Do you know what it might be. I'm going in to the mechancs in a couple of weeks to get a 50k service and alignment, and I would like to know what to ask him to check.

Also what are the best lowering springs for the S70? I was looking at ipd, but if there are better ones what are they? Is there anything I should get done before I put the springs on, should I wait untill after winter to put them on, and is it a DIY job?

TIA
