Wrecked the 850, looking to buy V70 V70-XC70

I would just stay away from the pre 03 AWD models....unless you realy need AWD, and you plan to keep a close eye on the extra maintance involved with the old AWD system. The new haldex system....from what I have read.....is worlds better, and has been in use on Audi Quatros for some time.
I guess if it was me looking for a used V70.....I would look at a 99 GLT or
T-5....comming off a lease??? Try to get ALL the service records....and if you do get a good price on it....you might want to think about a VIP(or equv.)extended warranty(this could also depend on what has been done on the car already).....for $1500 or so, you could have all the "problem areas"(auto trans, evap, PNP, etc.) covered.
