My experience with the 1.8T (Passat and Audi, both manual transmissions, in Europe last year): disappointing. The car is gasping for air at 70km/h. Don't know if it's the small-bore, constant velocity turbo or the ECU, but there really isn't much there if you're looking for a decent launch onto the autobahn. I wasn't impressed by the Bose, either.
