About the vintage, 1998...I have a '98 FWD V70 and it has 107k on it now, and it still uses absolutely no oil. The manual transmission still shifts like new. That's impressive, IMO. I'm less impressed by the electrical components, but many that were destined to fail have already failed by 5 years.

If you have a couple of 850s you know exactly what you're in for. I'd look for a nice FWD model.
