There's no doubt the OEM plugs are good plugs. They preform well. The problem is, they don't last as long. Volvo was looking for a affordable solution that performed well. OEM plugs are brass. I've found that the Denso plugs work as well, and perhaps a little better than the Volvo plugs. They do, however, cost twice as much. However, if they do end up lasting twice as long, one really wouldn't loose anything. The problem with Iridium plugs is very few companies manufacture them, and Denso is just about the only company that retails at any range in the US. It's just something that hasn't really gotten around to the full market yet. Just my two cents. They do work well, if I can say it enough =)
