"So we have a slightly different problem with our 94 850 glt. it's peculiar because the sometimes when the brakes are applied firmly, there is a vibration that is carried thru the chassis of the car. It is not caused by warped rotors. The speed is usually 30-40 mph."

Do you have the cutout shims on your rear brake pads? They fixed a vibration I had that sounds like the one you describe, and has been mentioned as a fix by others posters here. They are about $10/set at the dealer IIRC.
