Lightning rod posts

"because some of the better trained and more experienced Volvo fans are getting a little tired of answering these simple questions that seem to come from people who want others to do the grunt work for them and not even bother to read their owner's manual or search the FAQ or archives?"

You should give some of the posters a pass bcause the search function for the archives hasn't always been working lately.

But it's also because many of us post from work (I have a rather non-linear work flow) and our day job has priority over something that's in the owner's manual, the VCNA online owner's manual, and also was answered 10 times in a similar post at the bottom of the page. Also, it's summer, the garden needs attending, the beach beckons, etc. etc. There's more activity on the board during a blizzard in February.

I don't respond to many posts because I don't know the answer.

As for a "Ligntning Rod" post, you need only post "Should I buy a ______?" and fill in: 960, SV90, XC, S70-AWD, V70R or 760 PRV V6 or 740GLE/B234F and there will be plenty of responses, even now in August.
