Flame trap on 1999 S70 Non Turbo S70

FYI - There is some debate over use of the flame trap. Seems about half the people have Volvo dealers say it is more trouble then its worth and recommend just leaving it out. The other half say kepp it clean and check regularly I haven't heard about any trouble from removing it, so those folks may be right. However, if it gets clogged your oil sears tend to blow.

Personally I am keeping mine and will just change it as needed, checking at oil changes (which is probably the real problem IMHO - nobody bothers to check them). The replacement interval is at 30,000 miles, so you shouldn't have to replace every oil change, but more likely every spark plug change.
