Dunno about Volvo owners not listening to AM, mine's tuned there about 99% of the time, markets, news, traffic,..... I'd think that given the median income of Volvo owners there would tend to be at least a passing interest as to what's happening in the outside world.

My $0.02, even though my V70 doesn't have an antenna mast, rather the antennae are printed on the rear glass. Anyway, it's been just fine. It surprised me. Also have a Porsche with a windshield antenna that's awful, both on AM and FM, but who listens to the radio in a Porsche, since the bass notes of the motor sound so much nicer?
