S60 T5 AM Radio S60 2001

I noticed back in Dec of 2001 that someone posted a note that they were having problems with their AM radio. I am taking mine back to the dealer in the morning for the 8th time for the same problem. First he said loose wires under pass seat then loose wires under driver, then reprogram the computer. After changing Radio, antenna amp and other things the dealer told me it was a defect with the connector in the antenna amp. That was the last time, so not I go back. When I travel over bumps the raido goes staticy and then another bump will clear it up - or taping the seat adjusting buttom (power seats) an dplacing a load on the electrics will clear it up too.

BTW I have contacted Volvo NA, Sweden and Germany and all their customer service reps tell me they have never heard of this problem. To make matters worst the folks at Ger and Sweden tell me the car has never been in for service. With 22000 miles I would think that at least one of the oil changes would have shown up.

I know of at least two other S-60 and one S80 that have the same problem with the AM radio but the owners will not take them in since they do not listen to AM.

Maybe I should change to FM too...

If is not to much trouble could you test your AM radio over a bumpy road and see if it goes bad with static?

Thanks
