Ignition - Please Take Note! C70 1999

I almost had a caniption today when I put my key in the
ingnition and the key would not go past postion one.

I thought I was in big trouble and would have to get my
car towed to the dealer but after ten minutes of playing
with it I was able to force it past this stuck position.

It was very sticky but I was able to start the car.
I then calmed down and took a breath. I said to myself,
self go get the WD40 and give the key a spritz with it.
Well it worked and all is well.

What happened? Maybe one of a couple of things.

1- a piece of lint or something in my pocket got stuck in the key
and when I put in the key it dropped it in the cylinder.

2- gunk built up over time and jammed the cylinder.

Moral Of The Story! WD40 your key every once in a while
to lub the cylinder.
