Another A/C Question - Error Codes 850

the lights do not neccessarily mean you have low freon. My AC lights have been blinking since last november!! the car has very cold AC and does not need recharged or is it leaking freon.

I asked the dealer Service Mgr and he told me the lights usually usually indicate a electrcal problem (internal temp sensor for cockpit, etc.)

they siad they have to read the codes with a Volvo service tool VST. the error codes are stored.

you can try disconnecting your battery to clear the fault code. I just changed my battery on Tuesday (see post "a word about batterys") this cleared my AC lights from flashing, but they started flashing intermttantly today. they used to flash whenever i started the car, now they flash every 2nd to 3rd time i star the car, the other times they do not flash.

Dan

hope this helps, the only way to be sure is take it to the dealer for a diag.
