Connector on Fuel filter S40-V40 2000

Let's play Wotizit?

On the fuel filter there is a strap that keeps the filter from banging around under the car. Attached to this strap permanantly, on the top side of the fuel filter, is a connector with what looks like 2 wires going to it but nothing else connected on the other side. In other words it looks like some sort of sensor.

Soooooooo, Wotizit?

I ask this because in the process of tracking down another rattle I found the strap to be broken allowing the filter to bang around and stutter when the engine is started. It is temporarily strapped down with 200 mph tape and the rattle is gone but I am still curious about the sensor on the strap.

TIA
Miker
