buying advise 850 1997

I'm considering buying a 97 850 R wagon. It has 70,000 miles, tires need to be replaced, brakes didn't seem great at first but improved when warmed up, passanger side doors did'nt seem to close perfectly and paint color seemed a little off. The guy (east European) tells me he bought is for his wife, they were going to ship it back to Europe but they got divorced and he hasn't driven it for the last year. It has a temp dealer tag but he says that's his freinds (he was avoiding title transfer to not pay taxes). The car and this guy make me nervous, however, it seems like a very nice car for $11,000. I'm going to have a shop look at it. Look forward to your comments.
