My wife's in her late 60's and I'm into my 70's and the hand arthritis really threw me a curve. Played guitar all my life, thought senior years of retirement would let me play more but nope - osteo-arthritis in the hands says no-no-no. And working on cars is not minimal. We like to have some storage like the V60 (no trunk) we have a Honda CR-V that is bullet proof. What we are looking at for the Volvo replacement is a 2019 Lincoln MKC. That platform had some engine issues but they were ironed out by 2019. Even the issues before were rare. My 2016 V60 just had an oil consumption test done, it's using oil. Had about 51,000 miles on it when I had the test completed. Everyone said the dealer would not find anything, it is their usual method of passing on problems to get past warranty issue. Yeah a suit made them cover 7 years or 100,000 for the ring problems. Cars went to pistons with low tension wiper rings and it bit them in the butt. Just to save a few sips of gas it caused A LOT of problems. The fix is to replace with normal rings.
We test drove two Lincoln MKC's and they were very, very comfortable. As I would have said in my 20's, it road like a grandpa car. But now I want the grandpa car ride. And the 2019 has just enough tech for us. I don't like a touch screen that controls everything.
Test drove a newer V60 and no way. They are 4 cylinder engines with super charger and a turbo charger. Stressing those engines to the mas means more problems and less longevity.
