Hi ? (S70 owner),

I have no mechanical experience with FWD or AWD racks. Just a PS fluid change in one of my 850’s. Not familiar with SMI. 240’s came with either TRW or CAM racks.

I did a little reading about the racks in your car. Maval rebuilt racks in Saab’s get good reviews. If it were my Volvo, I would buy a remanufactured SMI by Maval from FCPEuro.com. I’ve bought many Volvo and VW parts from them over the years and overall they are great! BIG PLUS - they give a lifetime warranty! The prices are better than I thought too. Check it out…
