What do we need to know about shopping for a V70? V70-XC70

I have driven RWD Volvos for almost 40 years and I hang out over at that forum. I have a friend who has an interest in purchasing a 2007 V70 with 186K.

The wagon is at a used car dealership that isn't near his home. He hasn't been able to find out much from a phone conversation with the sales person. All he knows (or shares) is that they obtained the car at auction. So no records of any kind. I suggested that since the car is several hundred miles distant he should ask the dealer for a CarFax. I haven't heard back after suggesting that.

I guess what I am looking for is some insight on the V70's. Are there years that are considered better than others? Is there anything about a 2007 that we should bear in mind if we make the trip to see the car?

I am under the impression that all V70 cars have an interference engine, but someone told my friend that there are some that are noninterference. Aren't they all interference?

Thank you.
