Front end work V70-XC70 2004

Do you feel the looseness when going over bumps? At that mileage the ball joints are most likely toast. Perhaps the the control arm bushings too. So replacing the control arm is a good idea.

Do you also hear any banging going over bumps? That could be bad sway bushings. Not sure about your car, but on older Volvos you could replace just the bushings or sway bar end links and not the whole bar. They wear out first. If you hear banging it is a good idea to also check your outer tie rod ends. I know you replaced them earlier, but for safety’s sake check them to be sure.
