S40 wiper pattern

I have a 2002 S40 since 2015--got it with 24,750 miles--now just over 103k. From the get-go it has had something going on with the windshield wiper pattern. A large triangular section in the middle at the top of the passenger side wiper stroke remains un-wiped. I lived with it for a long time then switched brand of blade - same pattern. I've put a straight edge across the glass with no gaps observed. Has anyone else found this same annoying problem? - Dave
