Consumer Reports tells you to avoid V 60 Cross Country - '15 and '19
Also their annual ratings show '18 to be below average over all for reliability with more problems than average with fuel system, suspension, and brakes.
They pan the '19 even though only climate system is cited as below average
CR cites owners of '18 through '21 have below average ratings for electronics - they do not like difficulties with using electronic controls.
I seldom agree with some of their ratings - their owners LOVE Toyotas and dislike Volvos.
BUT often Toyota dealers are rated the worst in the business and Volvo dealers the highest. Evidently Toyota dealers offer good prices and poor support.
Anecdote - several years ago when my daughter sought to replace her '95 855 because the nearest Volvo dealer was 4 hours away, she asked my how to decide between a Toyota and a Honda as her town Bemidji MN had both dealers. I told her to ask the service manager of each to tell her why she should buy their car.
The Toyota guy said - we will give you a great deal on a new car - the Honda reply was - we will take great care of your car - she bought a Honda.
Her husband bought a new Toyota truck - he hates his dealer so much he drives 2 hours to Fargo ND for warranty work and has his truck serviced at the Honda dealer. After they service his truck, they park it out front next to the street!
