09 S60 2.5T Ck Eng light on but scanner shows no codes stored S60 2009

KlausC, Unfortunately NY State DMV Inspection procedures require the check engine light to work and can be failed if the light is on while the engine is running. I have unsuccessfully been able to edit my post. The TPS should read TMPS (tire pressure monitoring system). fyi, Cars can't be failed on safety failed for Tire light on, regs listed as "Advise owner" only. My Freinds shop who I am affiliated with for 21 years is a Volvo sales and service specialist. the only other time this has showed up the light would come on if the park brake handle wasn't all the way down. I was hoping for an easy answer for this peculiar problem. so I didn't have to spend Hours tracing the issue.

I will post what I find To help all the Other Brickboard er's unless someone out there had this issue and knows the answer. in the meantime i will just have to dive in the pool and hope the waters not frozen
