The ATF dipstick is in a super hard to get to spot down low with stuff atop & around it . What was Volvo thinking ? They should have made it come up much higher so as to easily access it .
So my solution : After finally getting dipstick out I drilled a tiny(1/16") pilot hole about 1/4" into center of yellow plastic top . I then screwed in a 3" screw about 1/4" into it until it held well . Now I can remove dipstick and put it back in pretty easily by using head of screw. Oh yeah I bent locking tab that was as low and difficult to get to as dipstick was out of the way.
