Inner door handle inoperative C70 2007

I was riding along with a prospective buyer in the C70 (he passed on the car for other reasons) and discovered when I tried to get out that the inside passenger door handle doesn’t work. Feels normal, just doesn’t unlatch the door. I’m hoping that the cable fell off and can be remedied by just removing the panel and not gutting the door. Anyone have this happen?
