crank sensor S70 1998

Darn....someone told me it was. I replaced the one that got broken off in the bell housing with one from on line with the part number of 3547699; PO chewed all the teeth off the starter, and looks like a piece of the starter housing broke off too. These pieces I assume eventually broke the crank sensor. Now I can start the car, but it won't idle, I can keep it running for awhile at ~ 3000 rpms, but it dies shortly after like 30 seconds regardless. Heavy black smoke, and strong gas smell. Throws a code of P0335, crank sensor, low voltage circuit A.
