changing nivomats with floor jack and stands S80

When mounting the shock, it needs to be compressed. So...

Apply penetrating oil on the nut holding the bottom of the shock, let it soak for a good while. Break the bolt loose.

Crawl into the rear of the car, remove the cover over the top of the shock. Loosen the large nut(?) and remove the two 10mm bolts. Be careful with the bolts as they may be a bit rusty on the underside.

Remove the nut on the bottom and slide the shock off, you may need a pry bar or large screwdriver as the rubber is old.

Drop the shock out. Place the new one through the hole in the top and slide it in place at the bottom. Tighten the bottom bolt.

At the top of the car, push the shock down and bolt it in place.

This is a 1 hour operation and does not require a lot of lift. I prefer a jack stand, as the wheel is off.
