thoughts / advice on upgrading from 940 to V70 V70-XC70 2001

My previous volvo was 1990 740 regina.
I did my research and it was obvious the 2001 was one to avoid, I bought a 2004 V70 174K mi for $1975.
Too many problems with the early model, it was on the bleeding edge of technology. I would not touch it, yes they look great and rive great until...
