Access to fuel door solenoid? C70 2007

Two of our 850s had gas door problems. Both had rubber grommets around the lock pin that were folded under. I do not know wether they were made that way, or became that way with use.

On the second car, I could see the problem without disassembly, but had to take it out to fix it.

After I fixed the grommet, I sprayed it with plastic-safe silicone spray. Some silicone spray cans do not mention that they can be used on plastic - the silicon is safe for plastic, some propellants are not.

Be thankful that you do not have a wagon - I had to start at the top of the rear opening and work my way all the war to the rear door to get at the gas door motor!
