transmission clunk S60 2003

The 'clunk' could be from the tranny mount or an engine mount failing. Easy enough to check the passenger side mount at the top of the engine. A little harder to check the tranny mount.

But, the hard down shift? Is your car up to date with all of the dealer downloads? There were at least 3 or 4 of them, unfortunately none were described as 'free'. Try calling your local dealer and supply them with your VIN and see if any updates were applied.
