Caliper boot replacement S40-V40 2001

The repair kit is just a dust boot and the rubber piston ring. If the piston or cylinder is pitted, I would say to get a new caliper. Cleaning with a Scotch brite pad is OK, but it really needs to look like new before dousing it with brake fluid.

When you reseated the piston, did you seat it all the way down? I am surprised that your pads rubbed unless there was some air in the caliper.
