Re: Fuel Pump Problems / Not Starting & Stalling Engine S40-V40 00

Anthony:

Hate to say it but there are as many good reasons for having your doors automatically locked as there are against it. The reason Volvo does not have your truck's feature is that in Europe they advise against locking your doors when you drive: You may get into an accident and as the result your electric locks might malfunction; and you are bleeding to death, for instance, as the rescue crew is trying to figure out how to unlock your doors. There is so much the car designers can do.

As far as safety is concerned, I would prefer to be in a V40 than any other car in the same class--yes, it is a personal preference based on experience. I survived in a 960 a 70mph assualt by an SUV; and I and my wife walked away from it with a few bruises.

However, I do agree with you that Volvo cannot keep its value. But again I do not buy cars as an investment: If I wanted to do that, I would be looking at 1930s Bugattis, for instance, and not Volvos.

Hope you are having nice day.
