Track width was increased on the Phase-II models and the wheelbase was increased a little (12mm or so) by rearranging the suspension setup.

Steering was adjusted and springs/shocks and mounting were changed.

Those were the major changes to the suspension.

> When is the next s40 model update scheduled?

I suspect there will be no changes anymore (except for some cosmetic model-year changes like taillight/spoiler tweaks) until the new P1 platform based S40/V50 models come out in 2003.
