Sunroof mechanism broken, replacement or cross reference source? 850 1995

U-Pullit comes through. I found another 95 850 with both a sunroof and a passenger's seat in very good condition. Got both for $70 after about an hour's work.

One thing about the sunroof, the car was dated 2/95 and the levers that lift the glass are metal, not nylon as in my wife's car which is dated 7/95. The mfg stickers on the sunroofs showed the same part number so there was a change somewhere along the production run.

This earlier sunroof works very well but the linkage is slightly different. When closing from a retracted position, it doesn't slide forward, lift up, then settle down to the park position like the original which was a few months newer. It simply slides forward and lifts up to the parked position. From that position it lifts to the vent position as it should, then when closing just lowers to close. Different, but it works.

There is also a V70 and another 850 with sunroofs to be had and I would have gone for the 2000 V70's (five years newer) if I knew it was the same model.

Next task, new headliner glued to the board.

Erwin
