Door lock doesn't function in hot weather V70-XC70 2000

So funny you should mention this and I thought about adding it in my original post.

I did some research on this and found out that Volvo had an issue in the 240, 740, and 940 door lock relay's sticking and burning out the motors. Thus in the 850, S70, V70 etc, they not only redesigned the relay but added the thermistor to the door lock mechanism.

The only problem with the thermistor is over time the material that makes it up breaks down thus causing this issue.

The redesigned relay however has not, I repeat, has not failed, thus they fixed the real issue, but introduced a new bug.

My fix cost me only time and works like a charm. The alternative to paying FCPGroton over $600.00 for all new door locks. Not gonna happen.

Matt
