Air bag removal 850

I am ready to remove the dash on my 1996 854, but before I do, a simple question:

Are the two T30 screws in the steering wheel deeply recessed for the 850's? I took a look and it looks to be only about 1.5 inches deep, easy for my folding torx driver. Or are all of the online procedures just for the S/V70s?

Any helpful hints on dash mount reinforcement are also appreciated. No welding or torches please.
