Dumb ass mechanic - ME!

I got a P0116 engine code after charging my ac system yesterday, so I searched here and found coolant temp sensor circuit. As I have suspected a faulty thermostat, I decided to change it and the coolant temp sensor.

I went out this afternoon and got the parts, came home and opened a beer and started in. When I got the thermostat and old sensor out, I realized that I had left the sensor on the counter and they had closed. Dumb Ass!

I put the new t-stat in and put everything back together and opened another beer. I'll go get the sensor and do it all again in a day or two.

It always takes longer than anticipated.
