How many V70 R AWD were made for 2000? V70-XC70 2000

G'day,

My wife and I were looking for a new car to replace our Legacy and after test driving the 2000 V70 AWD R, we decided that's the car we wanted. Problem is that the one we drove was sold that day to someone else, so now I'm looking for another one. Question is, how many of these cars were made in 2000 for the Canadian (or US) market? I talked to a local Volvo dealer and he said it was a rare enough car that we would have a tough time finding one. Are they that rare? There is one for sale in Canada about a 21 hour drive from where I live. If it's that rare of a car, I could fly out to get it and do the 21 hour road trip in a Canadian winter, but if 20,000 of these things were sent to North America, I'll just wait for one a little closer to home.

Hope someone car help, cause it was a really nice car.
