Re: Oil under the Top Cover 850 1996

Haynes will tell you. It's on the backside of the intake hose between the airbox and the throttle body. The hose and housing locks in place and just needs a twist to remove. The flame trap (little more than a plastic screen) is in the housing and can be removed with a needle nose pliers or screwdriver. Clean the gunk from the housing and make sure the flame trap and hoses are clear. A new one costs a couple dollars. They did away with them on the turbos but they are in the NA models. I have also seen where ipd or volvoparts (or something) sells a replacement oil cap gasket.
