Using remote while inside of car S80 2000

I read/heard that if the remote is operated while inside of the car it can have some undesirable effects such as inhibiting the sunroof from operating and turning off the motion sensor alarm system.

If this is correct, why was it designed this way?

Does this remote operation and its effects differ if the key is in the ignition (position I or II) as apposed to using a second independent remote?

Regards... Barry Sharp
