Transmission Noise 850 97

Have a clunking noise from the auto trans when shifting from drive to neutral and vice versa, only when warm. When coming to a rapid stop and the transmission does its automatic downshift into first, the clunk also happens. You can feel the clunk in the brake pedal.

All else told, the transmission operates normally, just the clunking noise.

1) Is the transmission serviceable or do I need to get a whole new box? I already change the trans oil with the engine oil (every 3k).

2) All bolts and pieces in the engine bay have been checked for torque and my upper engine mount is the urethane type. Could this clunk be anything other than the tranny?

Thanks in advance for any help

Alex
