K&N air filter

Just thought the rest of you should know what I just experienced.

I checked my K&N air filter 2 weeks ago for bugs/leaves and other dirt. I was going to vacuum it out. I dislike washing and re-oiling it, just because I might get too much oil on the filter and the possibility of getting an oil film on my MAF sensor.

The filter has a tear where the mesh meast the rubber side, about 5-6 inches long. All I could think about was the filter opening up when the turbo is boosting and letting in all sorts of garbage.

I replaced the filter immediately with an OEM paper filter.

Today, I looked up K&N online and sent them an email describing the siutuation. I bought the filter in August of 2008, to replace the K&N filter that was in the car for 60K miles.

Not only did I get a response within 5 minutes of my email, K&N is shipping me a new filter TODAY! No money traded hands.

Super service!
