2002 v70xc ABS Module V70-XC70

Having neither the time or the knowledge to fool around with the Volvo software on these, I believe he is correct. I know you have to load in the software on the new ones, and I'm not sure you can just re-flash the components. It very well might be possible and easily doable, but I don't think Volvo ever went down that avenue, and I don't know of any shops that do it.

Then again, if you're running a shop and figured out a workaround (maybe replacing the memory chips? I don't know how hard it would be to clear previous memory) would you sell them as used, or claim they're new and make more profit?

I think they can still be rebuilt (re-soldering joints or replacing components, I don't know what typically fails on these units either) , but I don't know that 100% either.

Sorry I can't be more help, I can just tell you what he says is plausibe...

If you're not driving it "like its stolen," are you really driving?
