Re: Mysterious loss of coolant S80 2000

When spring arrives, remove the winter coolant and save it for the next winter :)

This is a very common thing with the S80 especially. I have seen vechicles towed in because the DIM said "your out of coolant pull over and stop" or something of that nature. The only problem was the "burp" that consumed just enough coolant to drop low enough for the sensor to turn on the light and the message. In our shop when the PDI is done we over fill, knowing this is going to happen. Don't have a good answer, I know it happens. Burping and some hose expansion with break in are the only things I can come up with.
