Fuel Cap Pollution Control S70 98

Took my S70 to Volvo of Dallas a couple of weeks sgo with the infomous Check Engine Light diong its thing. Dealer ran diognostics and came back

with info reguarding a failure with pollution control equipment. Said the estimate to repair was for $500 plus. According to service adviser, this was due to topping off the gas tank. Having been recently laid off, I asked if they could reset the Check Engine and run for a while to make sure its was not just a false trip. Sure enough, the mechanic came back and informed the SA that the diagnostic came back clean.

Of course, two weeks later on my way to the library, on came the Chack Engine again. Anyone else experienced this, and were they able to get the dealer to warranty. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
