I'm not sure why it wouldn't start again, but my early fuel injected Buick wouldn't start if I pushed on the gas at ALL while trying to start it, so that could be what it is.

I'd suggest taking off the throttle assembly cover, I circled it in this picture:

Check to make sure the throttle moves freely, and that there are no kinks in your accelerator cable. If that looks alright, I'd then look at the throttle body to see if it's sticking.

The idle control valve (do you still hear a buzzing when you turn the ignition to II?) can sometimes go bad or get dirty on these cars - that's in the same area, and you can clean it with carb cleaner or something similar.

Those are some ideas to start you off - I'll be glad to try to help more once you start eliminating things, and I'm sure others will chime in with ideas as well.
