Clunk sound at 122k miles.... V70-XC70

Not sure where it is coming from. Changed trans fluid with 3309 at about 70k miles, just changed outer tie rods (shot...car tracks great now!) but clunk is consistently present. Mechanic who did tie rods says 'normal' for front wheel drive cars but he never listened for it. Can feel clunk in shifter knob when I move selector between forward and reverse and car 'lunges' very slightly. Thought it might be a tranny mount but have no idea where to look and what to check. It's annoying......

Is this normal?
