Re: Leaking fuel tank: cont'd V70-XC70 1998 AWD

In 1999, I had a leak at the expansion tank on my 98 V70 AWD that took over a week to get parts from Sweden. The NHTSA caught wind of this by reading over the newsgroups and this site and contacted me here in CT from Washington D.C. to get more info. They had been tracking reports of several gasoline leaks on these Volvos and were quite interested in seeing the tank, etc. Volvo sends the tank back to Sweden or somewhere for warranty purposes and I don't think the feds ever saw it. I was impressed that the NHTSA even read this internet stuff. Do you wanna raise some eyebrows? Report your incident here:
