1999 V70 ETCM V70-XC70 1999

Got a good laugh from the lawsuit settlement notice I got in the mail a few days ago concerning the ETCM on my 99 V70. I got rid of that Volvo six years ago and deleted Volvo from the list of automobliles I will purchase. That happened after four previous Volvos and many years of exquisite quality and reliability. I still have my 96 850glt that is flawless. Very sad to see a company of their prior reputation unable to remedy, in a timely fashion,a widely experienced customer problem that caused major disruptions in the use of their product. The dealers suffered because they could not solve the customer's problem and got no support from Volvo in remediating the immediate concerns of the customers who were without the use of their cars and did not want to hear more excuses or drive more loaners while paying for a car that had disappointed a lot of owners. And six years later I get a ten year/200,000 mile promise of more trips to the dealer for free. Did Volvo move to Detroit one day when I was napping?
I chuckled as I walked between my trouble free 96 850 and the Outback Subaru (that replaced the 99 Volvo)on the way to the trash can to deposit the latest sorry excuse from Volvo about poor quality.
